Alright, its late, so i will keep it short. A fantasy RP set in a fantasy contenient (i will make a map on paintbrush or something, dont worry) in a near constant war, only the bad guys have haulted thier attacks and are gathering troops, etc. I will put various forts, rivers, forrests, try and make it so it may be a real world, anywho... there are some changes to the basic fantasy worlds.... mages are openly distained in most of the 'good' and 'neutral' monarchies, a majority of the 'dark' (just a tad bit on the evil side) monarchies tend to dislike mages, some of the evil monarchies allow them safe passage, but there are few mage guilds and such. Orcs and goblins are not completely evil and vile, or hated. just mostly. Some orcs have managed to get into society, normally doing grunt work. But the more civilized, and the not as wanting-to-bash-youre-head-in looking orcs are accepted in parts of rural countries, and high countries(i will go into more detail about it later). Humans are still the most populous race in the world, but many have adapted fiercely nationalistic and free ideals, though they may be human, they may fight like elves and distain dwarves, and visa versa, etc. etc. Dwarves are more populous and play a more important role in the world, as do halflings.
Perhaps the biggest change, is that it is also stratagey based, if there is enough interest and all such things, players may control a monarchy (there will be enough if all goes acording to plan) and a certain hero-type charecter, so according to province size and supply, etc. there will be armies you can control, basically to beat the other guys completly, of if you are mercanary, to beat those you are paid to beat, if you are neutral... just to stay alive and not loose to much land. If there arent enough people or such things, i will, and may get another person to, play a hero charecter and control the good and bad armies. a note: this means that youre charecter isnt invunerable, heroic stands are good and nice, but eventually you are hit, and if there is a hail of arrows, and you are lightly armored, excpect heavy damages, etc. I am planning alot more, and i will emphisise on alot of stuff, but a few things like each monarchy(monarchy, not race, thought that will heavily impact it aswell) having a unique fighting style, and simple factors like, if you fight in forrests cavalry and arrows will be less of a risk, but mobility is slowed, and heavy, bulky armies will be slowed and fighting style hampered. Now it will mainly consist of charecter RPing, i mention heroes, but all true heroes come from humble ancestry, you can be a royal knight, but that takes half the fun of becoming a hero. And since there will be a map, charecters wont be evreywhere, once you pick a charecter you will choose a place to dwell, when armies come through and go through, etc. youre charcter may join the fight in some way. I dont want to give alot of the map away, but probably the first of the fights will be roving bands of militia from either side looking to plunder, etc.
Please let me know if you are interested(and what you think of the idea), make sure to get all the active people you can, but keep it MEG. Five or Six people would be good in all, not many, but easy to keep up with.

Hey, sorry guys, i was out all day, i will try and make a rough map, with a legend, anyways, back to my idea.
Each monarchy will have its unique fighting style (and possibly fighting unit), and does best in the natural terrain, such as forrest dwellers do well with guerilla attacks, but may lack in open fields. Each monarchy will use different weapons, depending upon their fighting style, and i even have a unique one made up. Anyways, there will be secretive classes (ninjas, thieves, and other unhonorable sorts) that will play some effect. As i might have mentioned before, there will be battles going on at diffrent places in the world almost constantly, so if you are a rouge militia man, you can fight wherever you are, but if you start in the army, you will be sent out to fight the enemy armies. Before a battle, i will try to list a number of forces to give a better account of the battle, and what types, etc. to make the rping as clear as possible, and i will list hero/charecters as i can, here is an example of what may happen at the begining of a battle: (ooc:Numbers: Orcs- Orc spearmen:500 Orc melee(swords, axes, etc.): 400 Orc archers:200 Human militia-[lead by:{charecter}] Melee troops: 300 Militia archers:100) ic: *After reports of some large Orcish army approaching the borderlands of (monarchy name), a militia forced gathered, mainly peasents and rouges, it was a loosely formed army, but it bonded togather under the leadership of [charecter], the militia gathered atop some nearby hills to get a better view, as they approached the top, orcish cries were shouted as some deal of orcish scouts were found and easily cut down, as the militia took thier position atop the hill, they looked out, facing a massive orcish army near the bottom of the hill. The militia archers knew quickly what to do, they readied and loosed a hail of arrows, the orcs, still in some shock of any resistance, took heavy causilties, the orcs were not well equipped, rotting leather and rusted blades, the militia men were equiped in some suitable leather, some in chain armor, they wielded swords, axes, spears, anything they could find, many family heirloom weapons were among those gatehred, decent for an army without any support other than themselves. After the first volley, the militia charged down the hill onto the orcs, and a fierce battle erupted.* So, something like that, it will be much diffrent in the real thing, since diffrent charecters and armies will be there, monarchy troops will be mentioned by county/monarchy (like Aidni swordsmen, etc.) name, and specific formations will probably be mentioned and all. -map coming soon-

The Elves had thier forrests in centreal Raitheein, Humans to the various lands in the east and south, the Dwarves in the mountianous terrain to the west, The strange Avians and legendary Pheonix to the north, and the Halflings settled wherever there was good food and drink, mainly west-centreal Raitheen, close to the elves. Outcast and strange humans were on the islands to the northwest and southwest. All was well for hundreds of years, the lands lived in peace, feudal monarchies had been developed in some areas, clan-based government in others, and in some just families working togather. That all changed when one day, suddenly, the Avians and Pheonix swarmed out of their Mountians to the north, onto the lands of the elves and humans. Elves and humans, espically in rural areas, were slain without mercy. Word spread quickly among the survivors, war was not unknown, but unused. The strange bird-like creatures were never violent, it was soon found out what caused thier masacre. Evil humans had gathered, along with uuncountable numbers of orcs and vile creatures, and, seeking the fertile lands, and new slaves, sought the rocky strongholds of the bird-beasts, they gathered and in droves, simaltaniousley, drove them out of thier homes, the bird-beasts considered it war and responded likewise upon the other humans. Mages gathered with the evil folk and cast wicked spells upon the bird-beasts, driving some insane, killing others, even mind control spells were used, mages had been hated ever since. Armies quickly gathered from the provinces, gahtering to the south in the province of Par-Disaeo, they built a massive fortress they called Disaeo, which the name of the province was derrived from. However, not all were opposed to the vile takeover, the elves in Mit-Larden allied themselves with the men to the north, quickly they amassed vast armies, raids were sent out, burning massive ammount of crops and prarie land, and then salting the earth making it near impossible to be fertile again. Battle lines were drawn, and war was unevadeable. Conflict came to an abrubpt hault when the mages staged a revolt to attempt to take all the lands, but this revolt failed, all mages, in all monarchies, were rounded up, and imedeatly slaughtered. The wicked men soon grew less and less hostile, but the damage had been done. The numbers on both sides swelled, soon intra-monarchy conflicts occured, those who lost were driven into foriegn lands, which angered the inhabitants, soon raids, civil conflict, and famine were going to consume the once peacefull Raitheein. The forces in Ab La-Terre, both human and Elvish, decided to take advantage of the situation, allied with Cae-Dae-Teir, with their combined armies they stormed northward, this only provoked the once hostile men who now occupied the mountians. Within weeks, a full blown war erupted. Armies of hostile elves, and men, marched south and east, building fortresses, burning anything else. -History to be continued, along with province explanations coming soon-

-continuation from history post- The northern armies were able to make considerable process, esspicaly to the east, but that was all about to change. The armies in Par-Disaeo were sent out to march, and did so quickly, checking the humans and elves on many battle fields, for awhile at least. Soon the northern armies were able to drive the armies from Par-Disaeo back, farther and farther, burning and building as they went. In thier wake, burnt and salted lands would most likely never grow again, nor be taken, all stone and building materials were gathered and massive fortresses were quickly erected, to defend the new lands. Armies in such outrageous numbers gathered, the Par-Disaeon armies seemed like they would be slowly beat back, until one fatefull day came. The armies meet on the northern bank of the river Iphan (centermost river, runs almost through the entire contenient, it is the west-east river, not the north-south river), the Par-Disaeon army was trapped, numbering some ten thousand, against the northern armies which numberes in the hundreds of thousands, possibly one million, the odds were stacked against the Par-Disaeon armies. The armies from Par-Disaeo had adapted quick, but brutal fighting techniques, they wielded some large shield, along with two weapons, sometimes three, a long pole arm, and a short sword of some sort, falchions were prized in the ranks because they were small, brutal, and quick. The armies got into formation, the northern armies used all manner of weapons, the fierce berserkers wielded large clubs, or swords, they took the front line. Next, there was a thick line of burly orcs and men, wielded rectangular shields and pole arms, though these lines were thick, there was a gap evrey few men, the next line consisted of melee troops, wielding mainly axes and swords, they would charge through the gaps into the enemy, any lines beyond them were archers, crossbowmen, or siege equipment, luckily, there were few arches at the battle, archers were sent, or left behind to defend the numerous castles and forts that both sides built. As the northern armies slowly marched fowards, courage ran thin among the lines of the army from Par-Disaeo, but any attempt ot escape would lead to death. The river behind them was a quick flowing river, and the men, even if they dropped thier arms, would most likely be taken downstream and out to sea, or hit rocks or trees, or meet phirana like fish, or other deadly creatures. When the armies were no more than one hundred yards away from each other, something, almost a miracle, occured. A single soldier walked out infront of the Par-Disaeo army, his sword drawn, his shield ready. The northern armies approached slowly due to their massive numbers, but the Par-Disaeo army was surrounded, this single soldier stepped out agaisnt massive odds, then, after a short speech, he charged alone, he didnt get ten yards until he was followed by the rest of the army, now, the smaller force was charging into a pinsir formation trap, it seemed they were doomed, but would not go down withotu a fight. Minutes seemed like hours in the brutal fighting, blood and mangled body parts flew into the air, the ground soon was covered in blood, then something amazing was seen, as a warrior turned to slash an orc, instead he found the orc dead, cleaved in two by a war axe, he saw a small, blood covered dwarf who said "We have come", then, with renewed hope, the Par-Disaeo and the Dwarven armies from Ik-Thar fought like never before. The battle lasted on into the night, until first light at dawn. When the light crept over the blood covered north shore of the river, only a hand full of Dwarves and men were left, the rest of the northern armies werent to be seen. Victory had been achieved, for a moment. As soon as the sun rose, and the remaining Dwarves and men met in the center of the field, they shook hands, and not a moment after they did, the sun was blotted out by a cloud, not a cloud of rain, but of arrows. No one is belived to have survived. The northern armies took a major hit, but the defendinf Dwarven and Par-Disaeo armies were annhilated, but, the armies of the north were devastated aswell. The northern armies returned northward, but not in victory. Evrey night they camped, hostile halflings would sneak into the tents and kill a number of men, this went on and on until they got to the mountians, then the attacks stopped. The war didnt end there, at the battle of north shore as it was called, nor with the retreat of the northern armies, it turned into a vicious war in the dark. Goblins would sneak out and robm kidnap and burn from villages, Halflings would infiltrate northern strongholds, and with dwarven equipment, sabotouge them. This continued until entire villages were all but barren, and strongholds all but rubble. Then the forces amassed again, the battles would never be the same, goblins managed to kidnap blacksmiths and steal well forged weapons, it was a slow build up, the war slowed, but for some years there was relative peace, villages were walled, and strongholds were patrolled. Things changed, there were some fifteen years of peace, allowing stories to pass to the nieghbooring islands, and some miracle, or curse, arrived in the form of horses, it is not know how they arrived, but in the open plains of Raithein, they reproduced quickly, and were used by the plains tribes to carry supplies and to trade, but it wasnt until they reached the far reaches of the main contenient they were used for war, in Aidni, swordsman mounted horses and used them to charge around in training. The tactic spread quickly, among both sides. When the numbers from both sides swelled, the northern armies were sent marching, old rivalries were ignored, the main target were the lands of the Ik-Thar and Par-Disaeo. The army, at least one million strong, broke into two massive hordes, one would head towards Ik-Thar, the other towards Par-Disaeo. No village was to be left standing, no men, women, or children were to be left free, either enslave, or kill, evrey fiel
