(ooc: I get the meaning of it all, just so other people dont get confused. And i am not to touchy about me charecter, just dont RP him in anything major.) ic: "Judging from the speed and direction, undoubtedly another evil concoction from Chem-Kerria. Stay on guard."*said Tewoth quickly. Tewoth then ran to his own camp where his warriors were ready. Since they normally wore light armor and rarely removed it, they could be ready quickly. The men were rushing about to conceal thier horses. Tewoth ran among them until he found a man with a quiver on his back.* "Fire a volley into the cloud, see what drops."*said Tewoth. The archer quickly responded, he readied an arrow and loosed it, the arrow cut through the air in a vertical motion, and then slowly descended in the cloud. A bird like scream was heard, and then a humanoid looking creature fell from the sky.* "Harpies.... HARPIES !"*Tewoth shouted to his men. The men knew what to do, they quickly gathered in small groups, the men who had shields readied thier shields, those without shields looked for shields. Spears were grabbed in haste, bows and arrows were few and given to the best archer of the riders, who would then take cover in a shielded group. Tewoth managed to grab two spears and a schimitar himself before mounting his horse and riding back to the dwarven camp. When he reached the Dwarven camp he quicly sought out Hundin.* "Harpies come, i know not of Dwarven aerial tactics, but at this time if it works it is good."*Tewoth said to Hundin.* "I must fight alongside my men, best of luck."*he then said, and spurred his horse to quickly return back to his men. * *The harpies were numerous, and this was a small group of them compared to the numbers released from the Orcish catacombs. The harpies had sharp claws, a dreadfull scream, amazing dexterity and a enormus apitite for both destruction and meat, only overshadowed by thier thirst for revenge and their lust for violence. By the time Tewoth returned to his camp, the first of the harpies began descending onto the camps.* [battle set up: 200 harpies against 50 horsemen + (450?) Dwarves In the plains of Ik-Thar. Cold weather, just past midnight.]

***OOC*** 400 Dwarves ;D
***IC*** Hundin began to give orders to his men"Harpies," he paused "get into groups of four and protect eachother, quickly, you." he pointed to eight dwarves standing next the left overs from the feast, "we have a few minutes, gather all of the left over meat and bones, we can draw them to it. The rest of you stand back and look out." The dwarves stared at him "Don't worry I will tell you when to move back." The Dwarves gathered the food together and then ran back to the others just in time as the Harpies were about a minute away...

(ooc: Celebrations come after the battle, lol.) ic: *As the harpies began to descend, they split into two major groups, one for each camp. Tewoth watched both groups until they got to close, and Tewoth focused on defending his men. As the harpies descended onto the riders, a few arrows flew upwards, a few harpies fell and feathers filled the sky. As the harpies got closer, a number of throwing hatchets and throwing knives flew upwards like shrapnel, a few more harpies fell. When the harpies got within distance to use their deadly claws, the groups of shielded men raised spears and kept the harpies at bay. Try as they could, the harpies with all their momentum could not grab and discard the spears, and thier claws could not grasp the edge of the shields to pull them away. The archers fired arrows when the time proved best, as not to get mauled, but still to hit something. As the flurry of landing wore, the harpies could flap thier wings as fast as possible, but there was simply not enough wind. The harpies slowly landed and started to panic, but then simply attempted to jump on the shields to break the line.* "CHARGE !"*shouted Tewoth, as he emerged from a shielded group, he hurled a spear at a harpy, which hit deep and pierced the light harpy scales, killing the harpy imediatly. Tewoth then drew a schimitar. The schimitar, coupled with a targe shield, proved a good combonation. Tewoth's men soon joined him, emerging from thier shields, soon a battle raged inside the riders camp. Grounded harpies attempting to jump and claw the riders, while the riders fought in thier groups, attempting to keep a defensive focus until the numbers were level, or more suited for encirciling thier foes.*

As the harpies got closer Hundin remembered something, he ran into his tent and then moments later withdrew with a strange crossbow it was supported on stands and had a tall cartridge on top this was full of bolts and had the power to fire between four and six every few seconds, depending on how fast you can reload.
***OOC*** Bolt thrower, has cartidges on top full of bolts that need to be changed (hundin has only one with him (more paked away)) the one he has has baout 12 bolts in...
***IC*** hundin aimed the eapon at the pile of meat and left overs soem of the harpies attention had already diverted to it, hundin called over two dwarves and told them to shoot when they are told and then to get their weapins ready. Hunin ran over to a fire and pulled out a smoldering log, he gave it a long hard blow and it quickly burst into flames, he readied his axe in one hand and held the log in the other.
Hundin looked at the harpies, they were landing on the meat, the odd one wasn't distracted but in such few numbers they were dispatched, about eighty five of them went to the meat and started to gnaw away, the food was dissapearing fast, "FIRE!" Hundin shouted to his men and the bolt thrower let off three sets of quick shots, twelve bolts flew into the swarm and eight harpies fell. "GAH!" Hundin shouted and threw his log into the meat, for a second it just lay there and then it started to spread, after aboout ten seconds of staring the fire had spread onto the harpies and the ones who didn't notice the fire were now in panic, soem started to try and fly away but their feathered wings caught fire, the others that avoided it (about 48 of them) charged at hundins men and the real fight began. As the harpies flew into the front line a few crunches were heard of axes embedding in their enemies but mostly rips and tears of cloth underneath the thick armour was heard, as flesh was pierced and slashed. Once the ywere in battle the harpies had lost their initiative and began to fall down, soon the harpies were spread out and their power quickly deminished as they were surrounded and destroyed, Hundin didn't fight much he just dispatched what attackd him and then threw in a helping hand to those that needed it. instead of fighting at all times he watched and tried to make sure that not many of his men died by planning and quick orders that were carried out immediately usually getting the army into better postions and taking the enemies advantages. As an axe flew into the last of the harpies the Dwarves attention turned to that of the horsemen "Should we help them sir?" A voice went up beside Hundin, Hundin stood there for a second and could see that there weren't many of the enemies left. He turned "You lot with me" Ten Dwarves that he had told followed him quickly and they charged into the battle, Hundin qucikly cut down a harpy which was clinging to a horseman trying to over whelm him. The dwarves tried to stick together but soon the number lowered and only six of them left, but Hundin kept going swinging his axe in mighty arcs cutting down enemies with each strike...
***OOC*** If I killed htem to quickly say and I will do it agian...

(ooc: No bolt throwers. They were not around in such a form and thusfore will not be in this rp. A ballista is okay, but those are large, tower mounted and simply impossible to lug around, unless sieging was on the agenda. And slow down the battles next time, you dont have to re do youre post, just remember for next time.) ic- * The riders had been holding their own, and then some against the harpies. Staying in close knit groups provided excellent defense, even when the harpies were on the ground. Tewoth was fighting side by side with one of his top officers, the fighting was near perfect, when one would lunge the otehr would defend, and so on. The archers amongst the horsemen aimed to aid the soldier who might have been knocked down by a harpie. As the battle continued Tewoth was seperated from his officer and fought alone. Tewoth kept his targe close to him, often rotating it to guard his back. Each harpie that came at Tewoth wasnt exactly killed, but with hewn legs and clipped wings, the harpies were as good as dead. The battle didnt last long, as soon as the numbers evened out the horsmen split up, the unarmroed harpies were easy targets. Tewoth heroicly swung his schimitar is broad motions, but changed to a more acrobatic show when he twirled his schimitar in front of him when a harpie came in close. As the dwarves approached there were few harpies left. Those few, now knowing of thier doom, tried as they could to run, but the archery skill, the speed of the swordsmen and the acuracy of the spearmen proved to be the undoing of the Harpies. Tewoth then spotted Hundin and looked to see if any other harpies were alive, there were only those immobilized. Tewoth then made his way to Hundin, on his walk over ot Hundin he pointed at a man with a spear in his hand, covered in harpy blood.* "Find the doctor, get me a list of the dead and wounded."*said Tewoth as he madeh is way to hundin.* "Well fought, master Dwarf. My apologies but this conversaiton must be brief. At first light we ride southwards. I know not youre destination, but in no more than two weeks my and my riders will be in Ik-Thar. If you meet me there, perhaps we could come up with a way to use youre dwarves and my riders togather."*said Tewoth.*

"Ok." Said the Dwarf "As I said earlier wewill be travelling north to scout but might see you soon, good day I must check on the men... hundin walked back to the Dwarves and started to look over them. "Someone do a head count" he shouted an then went to his tent for a sleep...

*Tewoth nodded and then talked with his riders.* "Three dead, two badly wounded, seven with minor injuries."*said one of the riders.* "Bury the dead in our fashion. Keep the badly wounded on our sturdiest horses, the lightly wounded should be fine. Pack up camp, we ride before first light."*said Tewoth.* *The riders worked hard, but they acomplished thier duties. The camp was packed, the badly wounded were set to ride the sturdiest horses, kept in the saddle by ropes. The dead riders were buried, thier resting places were outlined with rocks.a A fire was lit atop each grave, the fire feuled by the weapons and armor of the dead warrior. The riders piled the corpses of the dead harpies and set fire to them, and then rode off Southwest.*

Party of 20 orcs finaly reached surroundings of city. -Youll can rest when we reache city itself,-said Saimol to his men.-But now hurry up! Suddenly about 50 well armed humans jumped from bushes surrounding the road and quickly surrounded orcs. -Its a trap!-shouted Saimol.- Defend yourselves! Orcs quickly drawed theyr fearsome weapons and formed defensive circle. Although humans were more in numbers they feared the infamous strenght and rage of orcs. The ones who had bows or spears decided to take them from distance. And when the first arrow was almost shooted one human saw flag which was tied at one orcs saddle. -Wait!- he shouted.- Dont shoot! They are from Saimol's camp! ***ooc*** i gues ppl should know that some peacefull orcs established camp in theyrs lands and since it has no name its normal to call it with leaders name ***ic*** -Yes we are,- said warlord,- and actualy i am Saimol himself. But who are you? - We are military forces of Sichosti,- anwered human leader.- and Saimol, we know that your men are with us but take my advice - do not show up in countryside while things get cooler. Next time can be not so lucky that this. -What happened?- asked Saimol -Havent you heared? Hordes of orcs from Chem-Keria aided by clouds of harpies invaded Ik-Thar. We thought you were one of theyr scouting groups. People are afraid that those slaughters can invade Sichosti too. Saimol thinked for a while. Then he shoked his head and said: -You are right we should stay in our camp until war is over. Of course we would be happier if we could aid you in battle but we cant risk to be mistaken with enemies.- then warlord turned to orcs.- Sorry but no rest today. We are going back to camp imediantly!
***ooc*** btw ybt what about Bouk-Thar fleet? are they going to attack Sichosti? sorry short one but i cant think anything better after holidays... ;D

Current happenings[/b] *In Chem-Kerria the hordes of beasts were leaving like a dark flood, already reports were reaching the Orcish capital of entire villages of orcs and drows being overrun, this was but a small setback. The first of the hordes released was already descending upon the helpless plainsfolk.*
*In Cai-dae-teir masses of troops were being recruited by the newly self-apointed leader. Raiders were sent out to gather mreo resources from the borderlands, they were preparing for war.*
*In Wei-Kar the elves were on high alert, recruites were beign called up and the veterains were training hard. The elves might not have the numbers of the orcs or even the humans, but thier skill would make them elite on the field of battle. Books were taken and read having to deal with tactics, when the elves marched, they would nto be stopped easily.*
*The first of the Bouk-Thar raiding ships had finnaly reached land in Sichosti, near the border with Ik-Thar. There was a small and run down fort, the raiders quickly besieged the fort and purposley let hte defenders loose to tell the tales. It seems war was coming from all sides of Ratheein.*

(ooc: I dont know what forrest youre at, if you wish to ambush youreself, go ahead.)
ic: *Tewoth and his men continue riding, with only an hours rest per night and a near constant ride, this was endurable for the riders, and understandable. Soon the group made thier way over the hills of Ik-Thar and they continued southwards*
